Videographer accused of raping teen he reportedly met on Instagram

ST ANN, Jamaica — A videographer who reportedly met up with a teenager he met on Instagram and then allegedly raped her has been charged in relation to the incident.

The incident is said to have occurred in Brown’s Town, St Ann on Tuesday, June 4.

The police have charged 26-year-old Shane Thomas of Philadelphia, Brown’s Town in the parish with rape and abduction.

Reports are that the complainant and Thomas have been communicating via Instagram since May 15, 2024.

It is alleged that upon meeting, Thomas forced the teen to the bridge and assaulted her.

He was subsequently charged after being pointed out by the complainant and a statement given.
