American Airlines flight veers off runway at NMIA
KINGSTON, Jamaica — An American Airlines flight reportedly veered off the runway while landing at Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) in Kingston late Thursday.
American Airlines flight 850, scheduled to arrive at 7:32 pm, landed nearly two hours later than expected due to delays at Miami International Airport.
Upon arrival at NMIA, the plane reportedly experienced a hard landing and veered off the runway. It is unclear if anyone was injured in the incident; however, the aeroplane is said to have sustained extensive damage to the engine and landing lights.
The flight is scheduled to return to Miami in the morning following the arrival of a new aircraft.
