Sean Kingston released from jail after paying bond
Rapper Sean Kingston was released from a Broward County jail in Florida on Tuesday evening after paying his bond of US$100,000 on Monday.
Both Kingston and his mother, 61-year-old Janice Turner, were taken into police custody following a raid at their Florida home last month. They have been accused of fraud, grand theft, identity theft and other charges.
According to a previous report from NBC 6 South Florida, the raid was in connection to a lawsuit filed by an attorney against Kingston for allegedly not paying for certain items.
The rapper and his mother are accused of scamming banks and businesses out of thousands of dollars worth of furniture and jewellery. Turner was reportedly released from jail after posting a US$160,000 bond last Tuesday.
Kingston, who was initially arrested in California where he was set to perform, was later extradited to Florida on Sunday to answer to the charges.
His attorney plans to file a not-guilty plea and request a jury trial.
