JSE suspends EduFocal and Equityline from trading
The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) has suspended trading in the shares of EduFocal Limited and Equityline Mortgage Investment Corporation Limited due to both firms not publishing their 2023 audited financials.
The suspension which took effect Tuesday, June 4, means that investors cannot trade the shares of either company until both firms submit their audited financials. Both sets of financials were due from February 29 with Equityline and EduFocal disclosing to the market that they would have submitted their numbers by May 29 and May 31, respectively. Neither company has published their first-quarter financials either.
EduFocal and Equityline closed Tuesday at $0.81 and US$1.10, respectively. This meant EduFocal was down 46 per cent in 2024 while Equityline has not traded in 2024.
The suspension of these companies makes it three companies that the JSE has suspended in 2024, with the other firm being iCreate, which has been suspended since January 18. iCreate has not published its 2023 audited financials or its first-quarter report for the current period. They have been making revisions to their 2023 unaudited financials and putting out new disclosures, but no update has been given on the suspension.
Two other firms that haven’t submitted full-year numbers or first-quarter financials for the same period include Productive Business Solutions Limited and IronRock Insurance Company Limited. However, both firms have published unaudited fourth-quarter reports for the 2023 period. Both companies expect to submit their 2023 audited financials by June 28.
