Tufton breaks wrist in cycling accident, receiving treatment at hospital
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr Christopher Tufton, is being treated at hospital for a broken wrist he sustained in a cycling accident Sunday morning.
Tufton was reportedly riding his bicycle on Charlemont Avenue in St Andrew when he was hit by a motor vehicle.
The vehicle was reportedly being driven by a popular dancehall artiste.
It is understood that Tufton was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Last year the minister was also injured in a bicycle spill during an early morning ride with a large group in memory of cyclist Winston “Blacks” Brown.
Following the incident, Dr Tufton reminded cyclists to always wear a helmet.
