Laden, Demy Xxtreme collab on Style
Dancehall artistes Demy Xxtreme and Laden have combined talents on a catchy and relatable new track titled Style.
“It’s about lifestyle; how many of us as individuals are living the daily life of luxury, fun and happiness,” Demy Xxtreme told the Jamaica Observer’s Splash.
The track was released today, May 31.
Adding that the connection with Laden — who has been in the industry for many years — was made by his manager Floyd Hamilton of Blackie Yaad Production, Demy Xxtreme said he is grateful for the opportunity.
“It’s my first time working with Laden, and also my first time working with a big artiste. I’m really thankful. It was a favourable experience,” the deejay said.
Demy Xxtreme realised his interest in music from the age of five, but he has only six years in the game, professionally.
Hailing from Mount Industry in St Catherine, the deejay, whose real name is Demario Burke, is also known for tracks such as Bonita, Self Belief, Remedy, Golden, and Dat A Dat.
Meanwhile, Laden noted that he is pleased with the collaboration, particularly because he was able to experiment with his talent.
“The song is all about versatility. It’s all about me showing how lyrical I am with melodic sounds. I’m giving strength to another up-and-coming artiste which I love to do. I am not a selfish entertainer. When I see talent in someone I am willing and able to work with them,” Laden told the Observer.
Laden, whose real name is Okeefe Aarons, originates from Kingston but grew up in St. Elizabeth’s Cheapside District.
He was a top 10 finalist in the Digicel Rising Star competition in 2006. Since then, Laden has collaborated with notable artistes like Devonte and garnered attention from influential figures, such as Stephen McGregor of Big Ship Music Company Limited.
Laden is currently polishing an album for release in the near future.
