‘100 per cent Jamaican’ — Johnson Smith rejects rumours she is British
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Cabinet Minister Senator Kamina Johnson Smith has rubbished rumours that she’s a dual citizen.
Johnson Smith made the declaration in a statement responding to several graphics published this week which have suggested that Johnson Smith is a British national.
The graphics had a photograph of the minister with the word British placed on it.
“So I noticed that they’ve been circulating some new graphics, and I can’t figure out how they maths this one out. My father born in Kingston, my mother, born in Trelawny. I born in Kingston. I’m 100 per cent Jamaican,” Johnson Smith commented in an Instagram post on Friday afternoon.
“Guess what? No matter how they maths it out, Markie British is still British and a nuh me say so, a him say so. Leave me out of this one,” Johnson Smith commented.
