Joy Clark appointed new chair of Digicel Foundation
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Joy Clark has been appointed the new chair of Digicel Foundation following a unanimous vote at the board meeting held on Monday, May 27.
This appointment comes as the foundation celebrates its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of helping to build Jamaica.
Clark brings with her a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the foundation’s mission. Having served the foundation in various capacities, including vice-chair, it said she has been instrumental in establishing strategic partnerships that have significantly advanced goals.
Clark succeeds Jean Lowrie Chin, who has served as the Digicel Foundation chair since October 2014. Under Lowrie-Chin’s leadership, the foundation said it has seen tremendous growth and success and extends its heartfelt gratitude for her years of service and dedication.
During her 13-plus years at Digicel, Clark has been recognised for her results-oriented focus, integrity, and proficient work ethic. With over 30 years of sales and sales management experience, she has mastered business and market development, service experience, and client retention.
Clark’s impressive educational background includes an Executive MBA in Telecommunications in the ‘Digicel University’ programme in collaboration with the Mona School of Business at the University of the West Indies, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with first-class honours from the University College of the Caribbean (UCC), and various certifications in sales, marketing, credit policy, and collection techniques.
Expressing her delight with the appointment, Clark said “I am truly honoured to be considered for this role. Serving in this capacity, I am committed to building on the remarkable work the Digicel Foundation has been doing in supporting special needs, education, and community development.”
“I am confident that we will continue to positively impact the lives of Jamaicans, and I look forward to working with each of you—board members, staff, and partners—to create a better future for all,” she said.
