Grammy winner Mykal Rose and singer Chyna Nicole share Royal Hearts
Legendary reggae vocalist Mykal ‘Grammy’ Rose and New York-based reggae artiste Chyna Nicole have released a new track titled Royal Hearts.
Produced by Andre Daley for Emerald Records, Royal Hearts was released on Friday, May 24.
“I’ve always wanted to do a song with Mykal Rose. He and my dad played football when they lived in Waterhouse and to know that years later, we have this collaboration…It’s an amazing vibe and energy. I believe in love, unity, innovation and respect for each other,” Chyna Nicole shared in a media release.
Chyna Nicole’s sultry vocals and Rose’s easily recognisable vocals, wrapped around a mid-tempo beat, provide the gateway to a romantic liaison.
A team of experienced musicians worked on the track including Sly Dunbar (drums), Carol ‘Bowie’ McLaughlin (keys), Glen Browne (bass), Paul Crosdale (guitar) and Daley on percussion. The song was mixed by Daley and mastered by Gary O. Sutherland.
Said Chyna Nicole, “I feel totally complete with this record. Working with Sizzla has opened the gate for others wanting to work with me. This song is definitely freedom.”
Rose, a well-respected singer who sang lead on Black Uhuru’s Grammy-winning album Anthem in 1984, has carved out a successful solo career with hits such as Police and Thieves.
