Sirnan Biblical shares his journey
While growing up in the Church, Junior George Welcome knew that one day he would give his life to Christ. Today he is recording artiste Sirnan Biblical.
A born-again Christian since 2009, he has had his challenges maintaining his Christianity.
“My Christian journey has been great. I’ve had my fair shares of challenges, but I was never phased; I overcame many adversities, made many mistakes, I learnt, and God continues to favour me. My commitment was to always be faithful to God no matter what, and I continue to do just that,” the now Cayman-based Sirnan Biblical shared in an interview with the Jamaica Observer on Friday.
Originally from Windsor Castle, a small community in St Mary, he attended Guy’s Hill High School and later on pursued a bachelor’s degree in education, specialising in physical education and sport at G C Foster College of Physical Education in Spanish Town.
“I grew up going to church, but what pushed me to fully connect and commit to God was when I was doing a
Bible study project at church relating to the ark of the covenant, my group’s task was to make a replica of the ark of the covenant. Wanting God to be with me all the time, I surrendered to God, giving him my full commitment as a believer,” said Sirnan Biblical.
He released his début album Hero, a 16-track set in 2020. Two years later the 20-track Victory was released. His most recent body of work is the EP titled
Love Like This Riddim, a six-track opus released in March.
Among the songs featured are Love Like This, No Matter What featuring Sone G, No Other Love featuring DC Praise, Never Let Me Down featuring Treisha Williams, and Call Upon Your Name with Renae Renae.
The project was produced by Sirnan Biblical, while Zion The Messenger from Malawi, Africa, created the instrumental.
He shared what he brings to the table musically.
“I am a very creative songwriter, a very energetic minister of the gospel. I sing and create songs from various genres from dancehall gospel to reggae gospel, to contemporary, praise and worship, to soca gospel, and Afrobeat gospel,” he said.
He has also collaborated with Minister Blessed on the song Jesus my Saviour.
Some 15 years ago he formed the Sirnan Biblical Musical Ministry.
“The objective of my ministry is to make Christ known to the unknown, creating music that will uplift people and edify people about the gospel so that they can come to the place where they are fully committed to serving God,” Sirnan Biblical shared.
The artiste shared that he was once a dancer, and even worked as a security officer before migrating to the Cayman Islands in 2016.
Among his local performances last year were Love 101 FM’s summer road show in Brown’s Town, St Ann, and the Praise Ministry Awards in Montego Bay.
“Most of the events I have performed at are either in the Cayman Islands, the United States or Canada. I am looking forward to ministering at various places and countries to come as I continue to minister the gospel,” he said.
