Zamunda shows off versatility with ‘Save Some For Me’
For most of his career, Zamunda has done songs that reflect his Rastafarian faith, such as Jah Love and Forever Loving Jah. He does have time for ballads like Save Some For Me, his latest song.
In it, the singer likens his love for his lady to a work of art by a legendary Spanish painter.
“I’m like Pablo Picasso, I paint a picture in my mind then I draw yuh. Just di way that I want yuh,” Zamunda croons.
A video for the song, directed by St Errol, was released on May 13. It sees the roots artiste serenade his sultry partner (played by Sydney Watson) at their cozy, rural hideaway.
Save Some For Me is the latest release from Jah Love Surround Me, Zamunda’s second album which was released in early 2023. That set has collaborations with a number of artistes including Louie Culture, Jah Cure, Capleton and Popcaan.
Zamunda’s manager, Garfield Cowan of Natures Way Entertainment, said it is important he shows there is more to him than social issues.
“This can broaden his audience because Zamunda is a versatile artiste,” Cowan told Observer Online.
Jah Love Surround Me also contains Jah Love Remix with Popcaan and Dre Island. The original version was a big hit in 2021.
Recently, Zamunda and Macka Diamond covered the Sonny and Cher classic, I Got You Babe, an easy-listening song that was also a hit for UB40 and Chrissie Hynde.
