All eyes on Ability, Wall Street Trader in I’msatisfied Trophy
LAST year’s Jamaica Derby winner Ability and the talented American-bred Wall Street Trader lock horns in today’s running of the $1.4-million I’msatisfied Trophy feature in what should be an interesting race going six furlongs (1,200m).
Ability, who was previously trained by Patrick Lynch, now takes orders from trainer Fitzgerald Richards. He comes into the race following an impressive eight-and-half-length win wherein he defeated rivals going five and a half furlongs (1,100m) in 1:07.1 (23.2 x 46.4 x 1:00.1).
Wall Street Trader is hunting his third-consecutive victory, having won back-to-back races on his way here.
Ability, a four-year-old bay colt bred by Lion Tamer out of the Soul Warrior mare Disability Charm), has been training quite well coming into this race and, having shown his versatility, he could make it two wins in a row. Jockey Tevin Foster, who booted home four winners on Thursday, will ride Ability here, with the tongue tie on.
Wall Street Trader (Vancouver – Selva) won over this distance on May 5, beating rivals by three lengths in a time of 1:13.1. If he can reproduce that effort then he could be unsaddled in the winner’s enclosure when the race is over. Robert Halledeen remains in the saddle.
The Open Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward over six furlongs is positioned as the eighth event on the nine race card, with a post time of 4:55 pm and the first race at 12:15 pm.
Of the rest of the runners in the line-up Bootylicious, from the barn of Peter-John Parsard, could have a say in the outcome here.
Bootylicious finished in second place behind Is That A Fact over the straight course on May 4. She also goes well around the bend and is expected to run another good race here. Bootylicious has been preparing well for this race as she galloped four furlongs (800m) in 48.2 on Sunday, April 21 before clocking a sweet 35.3 for three furlongs (600m) on Sunday, April 28.
Bootylicious (Key To Keep – Keep The Faith) should ensure that a close contest unfolds here. Paul Francis will ride.
