Cross Di Wataz delivers the goods
It was the fifth staging of the popular Cross Di Wataz series and patrons were not disappointed.
Residents of Portmore and surrounding areas whetted their musical appetites to a feast of music and performances last Wednesday night at the Portmore Mall parking lot.
The musical stylings of DJ Mac and Baba, Boom Boom and ZJ Milo, Portmore’s very own Di Unit, and newcomers Team Dynamix brought the vibes and energy to ring in the Labour Day holiday.
Event coordinator, music producer, and artiste manager Romaine “Luigi” Brown described the event as a high-energy fusion of multiple genres.
“Cross Di Wataz offered a high-energy fusion of dancehall and hip hop vibes. The event is known for this kind of atmosphere, where attendees enjoy an exciting musical experience. This was our Bad Sneakaz edition, and the ladies came out dressed to impress. We had a large turnout of patrons who partied until minutes after 4 [o’clock], Thursday morning,” said Brown.
Aside from the musical fireworks, the ladies were treated to performances by the likes of Rytikal; Jetti, whose hit Picture Perfect was well received; Zidii, with his popular hit Formula; and current chart-topper Armanii, whose hit Haad (Fiesta) continues to top local charts.
Brown shared a memorable moment from the event.
“While every moment was memorable, Armanii’s live performance, as well as Di Unit sound’s energetic closing set likely stood out as a highlight. The combination of great music, dancing, Di Unit’s musical selection and Armanii’s stage presence created an unforgettable experience for the audience,” Brown disclosed.
The first Cross Di Wataz was held in 2017 at the Town Centre Mall parking lot in Portmore.
