Triumphant return by Jordon Reign’s
Jordon Reign’s, the six-year-old, American-bred bay gelding conditioned by Peter-John Parsard, made a triumphant return after a 204-day break, winning an Overnight Allowance contest on Sunday, May 19, 2024.
With Tevin Foster in the saddle, Jordon Reign’s dominated the field, comfortably taking the win by 1½ lengths in a time of 1:00.1 over five furlongs straight.
In a display of speed, Jordon Reign’s battled with Posing Already (Youville Pinnock) in the early stages before pulling ahead to secure his eighth career win from 17 starts. KP Choice (Richard Lunan) and Duke (Raddesh Roman) followed in second and third place, respectively.
While Parsard was delighted with Jordon Reign’s impressive performance, he emphasised the importance of prioritising his charge’s long-term health.
“Jordon Reign’s wasn’t fully ready for his Sunday run, probably requiring another gallop to be at the top of his game,” Parsard revealed.
“I am so pleased with his win on Sunday; he ran like before and won without any fuss. There is no race readily available in the immediate future based on the projections, so he will have to wait until probably July before racing again.
“Now my task as the trainer is clear, as we at the stables will be doing everything to protect Jordon Reign’s,” he added.
