Portland records sixth murder for the year
PORTLAND, Jamaica — An unemployed man was shot and killed on Boundbrook Road in Port Antonio, Portland, at about 6:00 pm on Thursday, moving the parish’s murder tally for the year to six.
The victim was reportedly standing on the road near a shop when a grey car drove up, and shots were fired at him. The car then sped off.
The man was taken to Port Antonio Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigations are ongoing.
This murder occurred on the eve of the anniversary of a double murder last year in Prospect, where a male and female were shot and killed. One person was held and charged in that case. The matter is currently before the court.
