The same knife…
Dear Editor,
The question of People’s National Party President (PNP) Mark Golding’s race is now fair game because of the history of his party on this issue towards the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP).
Recall how former prime minister and JLP Leader Edward Seaga was demonised for years because of his race.
Recall that a song was penned and used as an anthem against him and his place of birth. Recall that the PNP also targeted the JLP and called them the brown man’s and the white man’s party.
Recall also that in a recent assail Robert Montague was derided and called out and said to be the one leading “the black side of his party”. Another racist allusion.
So now that their knife is sticking them, why are they bawling?
It’s always good to remind folks that those who live in a glass houses should not throw stones and one should be willing to take as good as he or she gives.
Additionally, to come now and learn that he is an active British citizen and will not renounce his citizenship, whilst Seaga had quickly renounced his, makes me see clearer as to the meaning of that skit he enacted last year.
A zebra never changes its stripes.
