Police sergeant dies while on duty
ST ANDREW, Jamaica— A police sergeant died Tuesday morning after falling ill while he was on duty at the Half-Way Tree police station lock-up in St Andrew.
He has been identified as Sergeant Christopher Gordon.
Reports are that Gordon was found unresponsive and rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A representative from the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) confirmed the sergeant’s death.
“We understand that he fell ill while at the HWT police station and he was taken to the KPH where he was later pronounced dead,” the CCU representative said.
“We are still awaiting details about his death,” the representative added.
