St James FA/VMF Under 13 quarter-finalists decided
TUCKER, St James — Seventeen goals were scored in Thursday’s final two games of the regular season at WesPow Park, as former champions Barracks Road Primary and Granville Primary booked their spots in the quarterfinals of the St James Football Association Victoria Mutual Foundation U-13 competition.
Barracks Road hammered Farm Primary 10-0 in one game to top Zone C on goal-difference over Catherine Hall, while Granville Primary were 7-0 winners over Lethe Primary to snatch second place in Zone B ahead of John Rollins Success Primary, also on goal-difference.
The quarter-finals are set for May 27th and 28th and the semi-finals on the 31st before the final which is set for June 6th.
Defending champions Corinaldi Avenue Primary, who have been unbeaten over the last two seasons leads the quarter-final qualifiers, topping Zone A with 18 points and will be joined by Chetwood Primary-15 points; Flankers Primary-13 points and Granville Primary-10 points advanced from Zone B; Barracks Road Primary and Catherine Hall both on 11 points advanced from Zone C and Howard Cooke Primary-15 points and Mt Salem Primary – eight points are the qualifiers from Zone D.
On Thursday, Shamary Blake scored a hat-trick; Taeden Minott, Russchaine Hemans and Shakeem Blake all had braces and Courtney Baddal got the other for Barracks Road in their big win. Elkanah Ferguson also led Granville Primary with a hat trick while there were goals for Romari Reid, Omarion Williams, Fredrick Lewis and Julian Fowler.
