Woman shot dead at St Ann home after returning from church
ST ANN, Jamaica – A woman was shot dead at her home in Helicon district, St Ann on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as labourer Nadia Binns, who is said to be in her 40s.
Reports are that shortly after 2:00 pm, Binns entered her one room dwelling after returning from church when gunshots were heard.
The police were alerted and, upon the arrival of the lawmen, Binns was observed lying in a pool of blood with gunshot wounds.
Binns was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
It is understood that Binns was previously the victim of a stabbing incident.
Investigations are ongoing.
