AA increasing to daily flights to Ian Fleming airport this winter
AMERICAN Airlines is increasing its flights into Ian Fleming International Airport in Boscobel, St Mary, to daily service starting December 5.
American announced the expanded service from the current twice weekly amongst 16 “popular routes” on which it is providing more service this winter.
American started flying to Ian Fleming International Airport earlier this year, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, utilising an Embraer 175 aircraft with a capacity for 76 passengers from its hub at Miami International Airport (MIA). The same aircraft will be used in the expanded service.
Other routes on which American has expanded include various airports in Mexico, Antigua, Dominican Republic, and The Bahamas. Additionally, the US-based carrier said it will add eight new routes to Latin America and the Caribbean.
“Customers will have more reasons to choose American than ever before for nonstop fun in the sun this year,” said Brian Znotins, American’s senior vice-president of network and schedule planning. “We are excited to continue growing our network to the region with more flights this winter to the Caribbean and Latin America than any other US carrier ever.”
This winter, American will operate more than 2,350 peak weekly flights to more than 95 destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean, more than any other US airline.
American’s winter schedule will offer 11 per cent more departures and 10 per cent more seats compared to its record-setting winter schedule in 2023.
