Businessman Ryland Campbell has died
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Established businessman and entrepreneur Ryland Campbell has died.
His cause of death is unknown at this time.
Campbell, one of Jamaica’s most renowned business leaders, established the finance house Capital & Credit.
Through its subsidiaries, the Capital & Credit Financial Group Limited provided a range of financial products and services for individuals and companies in Jamaica.
The company also reportedly provided personal banking products and services including deposit products, capital and personal loans, and forex trading services; and corporate and small business banking products and services as well as foreign currency trading and treasury services.
Campbell was the 2005 recipient of the Observer Business Leader award.
Under his leadership, the Capital and Credit Scholarship Programme was established. The scholarship reportedly assisted more than 100 students to attend both secondary and tertiary institutions over a period of some 14 years.
He also gave back to his community of Carmel in Westmoreland.
