Hopeton Lindo’s Irie Pen Records releases compilation album on Favorite ‘riddim’
Favorite Various Artists Album, which contains seven songs produced by Hopeton Lindo, was released on April 26 by the singer-songwriter’s Irie Pen Records.
Several of its songs are currently in the South Florida Reggae Chart, which Lindo has had a consistent presence in the past five years. Lindo’s Favorite Girl, I Love The Way by Novel T and Peter G’s Not Taking No are the singles in the chart.
They are recorded on the Favorite rhythm which was released last February. The Best In Me by Sanchez, Happy by INique and I Can’t by Anthony Malvo are the other vocalist’s songs on the uptempo beat.
Completing the album is a juggling remix by veteran sound system selector King Waggy Tee.
Lindo, who wrote or co-wrote some of the biggest dancehall-reggae hit songs of the 1990s, is pleased with the album.
“This album is different as every song has the potential of being a big hit. Then we added the Favorite Riddim Juggling by the legendary King Waggy Tee who is undoubtedly one of the best in the business,” he stated.
Lindo credited the cooperation of artistes for a solid product.
“Building chemistry with artistes is very important to me as my mantra is teamwork makes the dream work. It only took about two to three months to complete as my strategy was to start the new year by releasing love songs for Valentine’s,” he said.
The Heavybeat Crew played the Favorite ‘riddim’ which was mixed and mastered at Heavybeat Studio in Florida.
