Anslom collaborates with Aston Barrett Jr on several songs for new album
Management for singer Anslom has given August as the release date for his next album, titled One Love. It has 11 songs, with considerable Jamaican input.
Anslom is from Papua New Guinea and has a strong following throughout the Pacific. He has performed on all five continents, but is keen to make inroads in major reggae markets including the United States.
To help him achieve that, his team recruited Aston Barrett Jr, son of the legendary Wailers bassist Aston “Familyman” Barrett. Barrett Jr produced five of One Love’s songs including August Moon, Hush Hush and House of Love.
Hush Hush, the lead single, is scheduled for release in late May.
“I am ready to break into the mainstream, of course with the dedication and hard work of my team. More focused on the USA and European markets and working hard to break the barrier in these countries,” said Anslom.
One Love includes collaborations with two high-profile reggae acts. Anslom shares the mic with Quino of Big Mountain on the title song, and Chaka Demus on Smile.
Love Me Again, Anslom’s previous album, came out in 2019. With One Love, he wanted a change in direction.
“I wanted my next album to be different, with songs with international legends. Quino was one of them and this wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Fyah Wyah, my USA manager. We also have Chaka Demus and The Wailers. I am so grateful with these collaborations that make the album unique and positioned for great things ahead,” said Anslom.
