Murder suspect turns self in after a year on the run
ST MARY, Jamaica — The man wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of another man at a wake in April 2023 has turned himself in to the authorities after a year on the run.
Jerome “Richie” Simon of an Orange Field, St Andrew address, is suspected to have killed Dwayne “Cripple” Green of a Golden Spring address.
Information is that on Monday, April 22, 2024, Simon turned himself in at the Castleton Police Station.
Reports are that Simon was at a wake in Devon Pen, St Mary when he and another man got into a physical altercation. A knife came into play and it is said that Green intervened to stop the brawl when he received stabbed wounds to his upper body.
Green was taken to the Annotto Bay Hospital where he died.
Simon reportedly fled the scene and has been on the run since. He is yet to be charged.
