MoBay’s Beauty
Renee Lawson, at least for the past few years, has been a corporate sales manager for multiple resorts by day and beauty entrepreneur by night!
As with many other new business owners, her lifelong entrepreneurial dreams were realised in 2020 at the height of the coronavirus pandemic.
“This downtime presented the perfect opportunity for me, a self-proclaimed sales powerhouse, to realise my long-time dream of creating a cosmetics and skincare line,” Lawson told Tuesday Style Dryer (TSD).
Lawson says her interest in the cosmetics industry started while watching America’s Next Top Model as a teen, where she was amazed at the weekly transformation of the contestants, and how make-up was used a form of self-expression.
The business, which started with a lipgloss formula finessed by Lawson and her sister Reneice, has quickly evolved to a line which now includes blushes, brow pencils and gels, liquid eyeliners, and skincare products like soaps, scrubs and body butters.
Four years in and Lawson says she’s eternally grateful for growth.
“I love all things beauty and I am involved and responsible for the entire creative vision and processes,” she tells TSD. “From packaging, to product development, vendor research, inventory, sales, marketing, creating content, and everything in between, it’s all me!” she continues.
The Montego Bay-based business operates through www.beautyexit.shopsettings.com.
