Infrastructure growth spurs business concerns
Dear Claudienne,
I am kindly requesting your assistance to find out whether I am entitled to a retroactive NIS pension payment.
I started collecting my NIS pension through my bank in November 2023. Before this, payments were collected at the Mandeville Post Office. The amount was $7,692.46. In November 2023, I received $13,341.27 and when I went to the NIS office in Mandeville to find out why the payment did not include a retroactive amount that other pensioners I know had received, I was told that not everyone was entitled to a retroactive amount.
I called the NIS head office in Kingston and after explaining the situation and the feedback the Mandeville NIS office had given me, I was told that I was entitled to a retroactive payment. My call was then transferred to the accounts department, but no one answered, and the call was disconnected. I have been calling the accounts department twice weekly since November 2023; however, the phone rings unanswered.
Please help me to get an answer. Thank you.
