Cherry Blossoms of Japan
It’s cherry blossom season in Japan. Style Observer Gardening asked Yasuhiro Atsumi, ambassador of Japan to Jamaica, to select and introduce some of the best places he thinks are worth visiting.
“Cherry blossoms bloom throughout Japan in the spring. There are at least 1,100 places known as cherry blossom viewing spots. Japanese people love cherry blossom viewing and it is customary to schedule an outing with friends and family and enjoy a picnic under the trees,” he shared.
“There are,” he added, “many famous spots where you can see the cherry blossoms not only during the day but also at night, and the cherry blossoms illuminated at night offer a different kind of magical beauty that is different from the daytime view.”
Here are a few of his faves.
