Irwin High student dies from stab wound after attack by schoolmates
ST JAMES, Jamaica —Students at the Irwin High School in James are now undergoing counselling following the death of one of their schoolmates on Thursday.
The student succumbed to injuries he sustained following a stabbing incident outside of the school gate just after classes were dismissed for the day.
The deceased has been identified as 15-year-old Raniel Plummer, a nine grade student of the St James-based institution.
Reports received are that the now-deceased had just exited the school compound when he was approached by a group and attacked. During the attack he was stabbed in the chest.
He was rushed to hospital where he later died.
The police continue to investigate.
