Second Dominican Republic-Jamaica Business Forum starts Thursday
The second Dominican Republic-Jamaica Business Forum is scheduled to get under way on Thursday morning, April 18 at the AC Hotel Kingston.
The event is one of the major highlights of Dominican Republic Week in Jamaica and will see business leaders and officials engaged in a range of discussions aimed at improving relations between both states.
“There will be face-to-face meetings to explore trade, investment, commerce, agriculture, energy, tourism, finance, connectivity, innovation, the orange economy, and other issues that can help to enhance even more the commercial aspects of our relations,” Angie Martínez, the Dominican Republic ambassador to Jamaica told the Jamaica Observer on Wednesday.
She said that representatives from more than 60 companies in the the Dominican Republic will be in attendance.
Ambassador Martínez also pointed to the opportunities presented by the forum and other activities during the week for Dominican Republic companies to engage with potential clients and investors.
A gala reception is scheduled for Thursday evening at 7:00 and on Friday the embassy will host the screening of the Dominican movie Pueto Pa Mi at Palace Cineplex, Sovereign Centre.
