Kool Kat, Jah Son win first quarter of tipsters’ competition
IN what was a truly exciting and thrilling exhibition of tipping and betting, Ruddy Allen (Kool Kat) and Jason Duncan (Jah Son) have emerged winners of the first quarter of the 2024 Capital Betting and Wagering Limited/Jamaica Observer Tipsters’ Competition.
Allen was the winner in the Most Wins category while Duncan came out an easy winner in the Monetary category. Both tipsters were rewarded with prize money of $20,000 each at Escape Bar & Grill on Thursday.
Allen, a three-time champion, was in a ding-dong war with defending champion Bernadette Bishope (Miss Cookie) for most of the quarter, displaying his excellent choice of selections to secure victory by five winners. Allen finished with 68 winners to Bishope’s 63 at the end of March.
Anthony Allen (Gujurat) finished on 62 winners for third place, with Duncan finishing on 57 winners for fourth place. The other tipsters were Sherdon Cowan (The General – 56 winners); Kingsley Gentles (The Genius – 56 winners); Donald Bahadur (Sir Donald – 54 winners); Robert Bailey (Bailey – 47 winners); and Garfield Robinson (Santa – 23 winners). Robinson had replaced Leslie McLean (Hot Spur).
Meanwhile, Duncan won the Monetary category, finishing with $53,440 ahead of defending champion Anthony Allen who finished on $21,918. Cowan was next with $20,092 as no other tippers were above $20,000.
