Soulchild Tanice opens new chapter with ‘Give Praises’
As someone who has been in the music business for over 30 years, Soulchild Tanice’s experiences are enough to fill a book. She gives thanks for staying the distance on her latest song.
Give Praises is the title of that track which was released in late January. She co-produced it with Alex Martin Blanken for her Soulchild Productions.
“It takes a lot of mental strength and focus to be in the business of entertainment, especially Jamaica where the emphasis is mainly dancehall. Also, it is important to know who you are and what you represent as an artiste,” she told the Jamaica Observer recently.
Her first song for 2024, Give Praises also represents a new chapter in the singer’s career. Previously known as Tanice Morrison, she recorded a number of songs and also toured as a backing vocalist with roots singer Richie Spice and guitarist Dwight Pinkney.
For much of 2023, she spent time in the recording studio, as well as preparing to launch the other phase of her career.
“I’ve been working on new material, and promoting brand Soulchild Tanice,” she said.
As Tanice Morrison, her songs include Who’s Gonna Care, My Caribbean Boy and Dance The Night Away. No Limitations, her only album, was released in 2010.
