Westmoreland mechanic charged after man shot in the foot
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting in Linten Pen, Westmoreland last year.
Charged with wounding with intent, possession of prohibited weapon and using a firearm to commit a felony is 20-year-old Alex Hill, a mechanic of Bullstrud, Grange Hill in the parish.
Reports from the Grange Hill Police are that about 11:30 pm on Monday, June 5, 2023, a man was at home, when he heard a knocking on his kitchen window.
He reportedly went to make checks and saw Hill standing in his yard with a firearm in his hand. Hill allegedly opened gunfire at the complainant, who ran inside his bedroom.
After the shooting subsided the man discovered that he had received a gunshot wound to his right foot. He was assisted to the hospital, where he was treated and released.
Following an investigation, the police said Hill was identified as a suspect and was arrested in the Geneva district of Grange Hill in Westmoreland during a police operation.
His court date is being finalized, police said.
