Three held after guns, ammo found in Peace View, St James
Three men are in custody after police seized three firearms, including a shotgun, two magazines and over sixty rounds of ammunition during an operation in Peace View, Albion, St James on Wednesday.
Reports are that between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm, a thorough search of the designated area was carried out by a joint police/military team, leading to the discovery of the firearms and ammunition.
The weapons seized comprised one Springfield 9mm pistol with a magazine; one Beretta 9mm pistol with a magazine; one Remington 12-guage shotgun, along with eight 12-gauge cartridges; thirty-three 7.62mm of ammunition; and twenty-eight 9mm rounds of ammunition.
As a result of the operation, police said three men were apprehended and taken into custody for further questioning regarding their association with the illegal weapons.
According to the police, the successful joint effort between the two law enforcement agencies highlights the commitment to maintaining public safety and combating illicit activities within the communities of St James.
