Skeng and Kaka Flames excite at Sav Jerk Festival
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – Renowned for his ‘electrifying’ performances, dancehall artiste Skeng ignited the second staging of the Sav Jerk Festival in Westmoreland on Easter Monday with a euphoric set as he belted out hits from his catalogue, leaving engaged patrons excited and happy.
The deejay, who graced the stage at approximately 1:07 am, commenced his set with one of his hottest singles, ‘London’, jumping frantically as he delighted the more than 2,000-strong crowd who eagerly awaited his arrival.
Skeng, renowned for his ‘Gvnman Shift’ hit, had the crowd captivated as he delivered hits such as Sha La La, Life Changes, Protocol and much more. He later brought out fast-rising dancehall artiste, Kaka Highflames who touched the stage accompanied by his dancers.
They were welcomed by loud cheers from the audience inside Godfrey Stewart High school.
One patron told Observer Online that the Protocol boss’ performance left her speechless.
“It was breathtaking, mi nah tell no lie. Mi couldn’t seh nutten, just video and a scream. Right now mi voice gone, the water dashing was just part of the act. It nice,” Demoya ‘Moya’ Allen said, smiling from ear-to-ear and bursting with excitement.
She said her favorite performance was “Curves” as it resonated with her.
She added that events such as Sav Jerk Fest fosters togetherness as families tend to unite and fulljoy themselves.
“Distant families come together; long-lasting relatives meet up with their families because of the party. It’s a good look,” Allen said.
As for public relations officer for the event, Christopher ‘Dr Ras’ Baker, he too agreed that the event nurtures an atmosphere of unity.
Baker believes events like the Sav Jerk Festival are needed to “bring back calmness to Westmoreland.”
“Crime and violence is not the way. Let’s bring back family to the forefront,” Baker encouraged as he spoke on the event’s outcome.

He also extended gratitude to the patrons for supporting the event as well as the artistes, disc jockeys, vendors,police and the promotions team for making the event a “success.”
“Shout out to all the artistes and everyone who did their thing. Big up to all the DJs who came out and dis a good job. We did not only promise – we delivered,” Baker said.
The event also saw performances from Bad Gyal Jade, Molo Don, Natural Silk, Apache Kid and Sarge, One Motion, Zalis, Hixidus.
Selectors Xxtra Fire, Bigga 5, Fresh Unit, Dexta Peppa and Team Active kept patrons entertained throughout the day.
