One dead, two hospitalised in Clarendon collision
CLARENDON, Jamaica- A man is dead and two people have been hospitalised following a collision on the Savannah Cross main road in Clarendon on Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Alton Hayles, 45, of a St John’s Road address in Spanish Town, St Catherine.
The police say the accident happened about 7:10pm on the Bustamante Highway in the vicinity of the Savannah Cross intersection in Clarendon
Reports are that the driver of the Toyota Probox was driving from Savannah Cross and upon reaching the intersection, he collided with a Honda SUV which was coming from Mineral Heights.
Upon impact, the Probox overturned, killing the driver. A female who was in the vehicle is being treated at hospital along with the driver of the Honda SUV.
The area where the accident happened is a noted crash hotspot.
