Daylight armed robbery at Hanover supermarket
HANOVER, Jamaica – Armed robbers made off with at least $900,000 in cash and other valuables after a brazen daylight attack at a supermarket in Kingsville district, Hanover on Saturday.
Observer Online understands that sometime after 9:00 am, shoppers were in the store purchasing items when a white Toyota ISIS motorcar stopped at the front of the establishment.
Five men armed with handguns alighted from the vehicle and entered the supermarket forcing shoppers to the ground.
The men then proceeded to rob the supermarket operator, workers and customers of cash and personal items.
It is understood that the business operator lost over J$400,000 in cash.
The robbers also made off with a large quantity of liquor and beverages valued at nearly J$500,000.
