One dead, six hospitalised in Fern Gully crash
ST ANN, Jamaica — A woman is dead and six other persons are in serious condition at hospital following a motor vehicle accident on the Fern Gully main road in St Ann Sunday morning.
The name of the deceased has not been released.
Police say that minutes to midday, a 15-seater motor vehicle with 23 persons aboard crashed into the Fern Gully banking.
Police were called to the scene and the injured persons were taken to the St Ann’s Bay hospital where a woman succumbed and the others were admitted.
It’s reported that 16 children and seven adults were travelling in the vehicle.
Head of the St Ann police, Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell, is urging motorists to obey the speed limit and to follow the road code.
