More accolades for Sean Paul as Temperature and The Trinity earn new certifications
More musical accolades continue to pour in for dancehall and international recording artiste Sean Paul.
His latest certifications are for the 2005 hit single Temperature and his fourth studio album The Trinity (released in 2005 via VP Records/Atlantic Records).
In its February 2024 report, which was released last week, Germany’s Bundesverband Musikindustrie (English for Federal Music Industry Association) or simply BVMI, reports that Temperature has been certified platinum for sales and streaming equivalent exceeding 600,000 units.
Temperature was produced by Rohan ‘Snowcone’ Fuller and is featured on the popular Applause rhythm.
The song was a massive hit stateside and in Europe. In the US, Temperature peaked at #10 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, #5 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also charted in Canada, the United Kingdom and 11 other countries in Europe.
It was previously certified triple platinum in the US, double platinum in the UK, 3x platinum in Canada, platinum in Italy and gold in Australia, Denmark, Switzerland, Japan and Spain.
On March 28, The Trinity was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America for sales and streaming equivalent exceeding 2 million units.
The album was released in late 2005 and features production work from the likes of Donovan ‘Don Corleon’ Bennett, Craig ‘Leftside’ Parkes, Dwayne ‘Supa Dups’ Chin-Quee and Steven ‘Lenky’ Marsden.
Looga Man, Kid Kurrup, Tami Chynn, Nina Sky and Wayne Marshall are among those featured on The Trinity.
Some of the hit songs from the initial 18-song set include (When You Gonna) Give it Up to Me featuring Keyshia Cole, Ever Blazin, Never Gonna Be the Same, and We Be Burnin, which was produced by Delano Thomas and the Renaissance Crew.
The Trinity peaked at #7 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart, #11 on the UK Albums chart and #1 on Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart.
The album was a commercial success earning gold certifications in Belgium, Germany, Ireland and Switzerland. In France, it has been certified 2x platinum and platinum in Canada, while racking up a platinum certification in Japan.
