“We want to implore business operators to be vigilant in operating in the area,” DSP Shaunjaye Mitchell cautioned.
He also advised residents and business owners alike to report strange incidents in the tourist hotspot.
“We also want to encourage citizens to report suspicious activities and suspicious persons who may be lingering in the space,” DSP Mitchell added.
According to reports, Haseley has been selling in the transport centre for many years and was much loved.
According to an Observer Online source, Haseley had bled profusely as vendors ran to her rescue and other people aided by alerting the Negril police who came with the paramedics. However, their efforts proved futile.
The top lawman is also encouraging business owners to make use of CCTV cameras as he believes that they sometimes act as a deterrent to criminals and criminal elements.
DSP Mitchell also used the opportunity to urge citizens with information that can aid in the investigation of Haseley’s murder to contact the police, at 311 or 119 or file a report at the nearest police station, in an effort to bring the perpetrator(s) to justice.
