Sweet revenge for Covenant in domino league
COVENANT Insurance Brokers made it two wins from as many games in the 2024 Winners Corporate Domino League on Friday, after defeating Crystal Network Solutions 138-98 in the second round of competition.
At Mystic Sports Bar and Lounge, Covenant Insurance Brokers exacted sweet retribution over Crystal Network Solutions whom they had fallen to in the competition’s quarter-finals the previous year. Covenant Insurance Brokers began that match with a 10-point lead when their opponents arrived more than 30 minutes after the scheduled pose-off time at 6:30 p.m.
And it was always going to be difficult for Crystal Network Solutions because they only had players who could participate on three of the four tables, therefore Covenant Insurance Brokers picked up one point for every five minutes played.
When Crystal Network SolutionsCrystal Network Solutions finally obtained their additional players, it was too late. Covenant Insurance Brokers capitalised on the advantage and raced to a 75-48 lead at half-time in the two-hour tournament.
Nothing changed in the second half as Covenant Insurance Brokers maintained their dominance and, despite rotating their players and making numerous table changes, won the game by 40 points to remain on top of Group A by six points.
