Jimmy Moss-Solomon book set for April 3 launch
A book celebrating the profound and enduring impact of late business leader James Moss-Solomon on Jamaica and the Caribbean will be launched next week.
The launch of the GraceKennedy Foundation-funded publication, JAMES ‘JIMMY’ MOSS-SOLOMON: His Thoughts, Ideas and Perspectives, is set to take place on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at the Karl Hendrickson Auditorium, Jamaica College.
This significant work was compiled by Glynis Salmon and published by Bala Press.
According to a press release, the rich compilation of over 100 insightful and thought-provoking articles/essays presents critical thoughts, ideas and perspectives on a diverse, but inter-connected range of topics that affect the social, intellectual and economic development of Jamaica and the region.
The articles/essays are arranged and presented in four thematic areas – Society and Culture; Leadership, Governance and Development; Economy, Finance and Trade; Management. Within these broad thematic areas are sub-themes covering such areas as: Elections, Industry, Law and Order, Education, Sports and Sportsmanship and the Coronavirus Pandemic.
King’s Counsel Walter H Scott, founder of publicopinion.news, said, “Through his writings, Jimmy shows up as thinker, scholar, researcher, teacher, historian, philosopher, visionary, sage, prophet, griot, storyteller, humorist… totally multi-dimensional”.

Jimmy Moss-Solomon was a renowned and highly-respected leader in industry, academia, public advocacy, and philanthropy, who served his country Jamaica and the Caribbean with passion and distinction. He was also a senior executive with GraceKennedy, a founding director of GraceKennedy Foundation and the founding chairman of Grace and Staff Community Development Foundation.
