Warby Parker x Theophilio
Breaking style news this week is the unveiling of the Warby Parker and Theophilio limited-edition eyewear collection. Ahead of the March 19, drop Theophilio and Warby Parker threw a Jamaican-themed fête in the East Village at Jamaican restaurant Miss Lily’s.
Jamaican-born, New York-based fashion designer Edvin Thompson’s early life in Kingston continues to inform his work. Together, Thompson through his brand Theophilio and New York-based eyewear brand Warby Parker, have translated his childhood memories into eyewear with a limited-edition pair dubbed Shaunie, a nod to Thompson’s nickname.
“This collaboration would not have been possible without my brand director and founder Antone Gregory,” shared Thompson, who handled the creative ideation of the collaboration and would love to see the frames on dancehall icons Spice and Beenie Man.
The collection is available online @ warbyparker.com/theophilio, blackfashionfair.org/products/shaunie, and at select Warby Parker stores.
Purchases from the collection have a charitable component as, for every pair of Shaunie sold, another is given to someone in need.
