Last Headley Cup semi-final spot up for grabs
Group Two teams Manchester High and Tacky High are to meet at the former’s sports complex in Mandeville in a two-day match starting Tuesday, March 26 to decide the fourth semi-finalist in the ISSA/Grace Headley Cup cricket competition which embraces rural schools.
Defending champions St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS), last year’s beaten finalists May Day High and Clarendon College are already through to the semi-final round.
The Manchester versus Tacky game was originally scheduled for this week. The winner will face STETHS.
ISSA sources say the semi-final between May Day High and Clarendon College has been postponed from Tuesday/Wednesday to facilitate the playing of both semi-final games on the same day. Also, a postponement will allow replay of a rained-out T20 fixture involving May Day High and Black River High.
