Audi débuts Q6 e-tron
...marks transformation into premium electric mobility provider
The Audi Q6 e-tron, available to order from March 2024, is the first production model on the premium platform electric (PPE), marking the next step in the company’s transformation into a provider of premium electric mobility.
PPE marks the start of a comprehensive strengthening and rejuvenation of Audi’s global range of electrically powered models.
“The PPE shows how we are pooling expertise within the Volkswagen Group and thus making electric mobility scalable. Thanks to the PPE, we are able to launch high-volume models with high technical standards in different segments and thus further electrify our portfolio,” said Gernot Dollner, Chairman of the board of management of AUDI AG, at the world première at the main plant in lngolstadt.
The Audi Q6 e-tron comes with perfect proportions, thanks to the PPE. The ratio of a long wheelbase to very short overhangs forms the basis for the familiar powerful, dynamic package that offers sufficient space for five passengers and luggage, and offers high utility value, thus fulfilling the requirements customers place on an SUV.
It also embodies the further developed e-tron-specific design language with a three-dimensionally shaped singleframe grille.
The vehicle also features the world’s first active digital light signature powered by digital organic light-emitting diode (OLED) front and rear lights.
The all-new PPE electric architecture is 800-volt based using a newly developed lithium-ion battery consisting of 12 modules and 180 prismatic cells with a total gross capacity of 100 kWh to ensure a range of up to 388 miles. Charging speeds are as fast 270 kW due to intelligent, high performance, and predictive thermal management systems that allow bank charging, meaning the battery is automatically divided into two batteries at equal voltage, which can then be charged in parallel with up to 135 kW.
Both the Q6 Quattro (382bhp) and SQ6 (509bhp) are available at launch with deliveries to begin this summer. Two rear-wheel-drive only models will follow at a later date based on market.
