#Champs2024: Calabar’s Bramwell safely through to Class 2 boys’ 400m final
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Calabar High’s Nickecoy Bramwell, the only Class 2 boy to run sub-47 seconds in the 400m this year, cruised into the final of the event at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships.
Bramwell’s race, semi-final two, was won by Excelsior’s Demarco Bennett in 48.40 seconds. Bramwell, who has a personal best of 46.75, clocked 49.31 to advance.
Markel Smith of Kingston College (48.07), William Knibb’s Jabari Matheson (48.36) and Troydian Flemmings of Manchester High (48.68) are through from semi-final one.
Semi-final three went to Rashad Buckle of St Jago (49.11). He was followed by Port Antonio’s Dantae Simpson (49.23) and Excelsior’s Gregory McFarlane, also in 49.23 seconds.
The final of the event will be contested on Thursday at 7:44 pm.
