Jamaica hosting AIB-LAC Annual Conference this week
More than 250 delegates from across the world are scheduled to be in Jamaica this week for the Academy of International Business Schools — Latin America and the Caribbean (AIB-LAC) Annual Conference.
The event, hosted by Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM) at The University of the West Indies, is set for March 20-22 and is being held in the Caribbean for the first time under the theme ‘Rethinking and Reshaping the Role of Business in Creating a more Sustainable and Resilient Latin America and the Caribbean’.
According to the organisers, the conference “serves as a paramount platform for scholars, researchers, and practitioners from the Latin American and Caribbean region to converge, collaborate, and exchange ideas on critical issues facing businesses in the region and international best practices and opportunities”.
The event, the organisers said, “remains a beacon of excellence in the field, with a rich tradition of fostering scholarly exchange and promoting international business education”.
The conference theme is particularly relevant as the region grapples with economic, ecological, socio-cultural, and geopolitical challenges, the organisers said, adding that delegates can “anticipate engaging panel discussions, insightful keynote addresses, and networking opportunities designed to facilitate knowledge sharing and foster meaningful discourse on the pivotal role of businesses in fostering a sustainable and resilient future for the region”.
Additional themes to be addressed are:
• Internationalisation strategies and processes;
• Environmental, social, and governance in international business;
• Innovation, technology, and supply chains;
• International entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, and family business;
• International marketing and consumer analytics;
• International HRM, global leadership, and diversity;
• Digital globalisation; and
• International travel and tourism.
