Labourer charged with 2023 murder
ST JAMES, Jamaica – The St James police have charged a 24-year-old labourer with murder following the death of a man in Mount Pleasant district, Westmoreland on June 8, 2023.
He is Trevaughn McDonald, a labourer of Nany Avenue, Rose Heights in the parish.
Dead is 40-year-old Damion Henry otherwise called ‘Frass’, a farmer of Content district, Westmoreland.
Reports are that about 10:15 am, Henry was standing along the Mount Pleasant main road talking to friends when a Toyota Axio motor car drove up and McDonald allegedly alighted from the front passenger seat armed with a fireman and opened gunfire at Henry, hitting him multiple times.
McDonald then reportedly escaped in the vehicle.
A report was made to the police and Henry was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Following an investigation into the matter, McDonald was arrested. He was charged on Saturday, after he underwent a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.
His court date has not been finalised.
