ABM loss rectified
Dear Claudienne,
I am writing this email on behalf of a friend who tried to withdraw $30,000.00 from the Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) ABM located at Hope Zoo, on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 8:57 am.
He got a receipt for the withdrawal but did not get the cash as the machine took back the cash before he was able to retrieve it.
Since then, on several occasions he has called NCB Customer Services agents to have the matter resolved, to no avail. He also visited the Liguanea Branch on February 9, 2024 and was given a case number.
However, to date 26 days later, the matter has not been resolved.
Could you kindly look into this very serious matter?
CW
Dear CW
Tell Claudienne has been in communication with NCB and JN Bank on the matter and on March 12,2024, NCB advised the column that the sum had been lodged to the account.
The NCB e-mail stated the following:
“Thanks again for sharing this matter with us. Confirming that we have contacted the customer and the matter has been resolved.”
Tell Claudienne also received the following email from JN Bank. ”We have investigated the matter concerning the customer — not a JN Bank customer — who attempted to withdraw funds from their account using our ABM in Hope Gardens, St Andrew. Although we have not been able to identify a report or notification from the customer’s bank about the issue, we have located the customer’s transaction and have notified their bank of our findings.
We have also assessed and addressed the issue with the ABM the customer used to conduct the transaction and, along with all our machines, we have strengthened monitoring to mitigate future downtime.
The inconvenience the customer experienced is unfortunate and we encourage them to contact their bank as soon as possible for redress.
Once again, our gratitude for bringing this matter to our attention so that we could have the opportunity to assist the customer.”
We wish you all the best.
