Trishana’s top picks – St Jago athletes to watch at Champs 2024
1. Marquies Page – Class Three Boys
If he’s healthy at the championships, I fancy him to win the Boys’ 100m and medal in the sprint hurdles to give his team valuable points.
2. Rushaine Richards – Class Three Boys
He’s coached by Olympian Bert Cameron and has looked comfortable over the 400m at a few outings leading up to the championships. With a good race distribution, he should do well.
3. Kryshell Hoolong – Class One Girls
She has had some good runs this season in the sprints and can help her team to close the gap on Holmwood Technical.
4. Adora Campbell – Class Three Girls
Another huge talent within the St Jago team. She competes in the hurdles and 200m. Adora has the potential to medal in both individual events.
5. The field events for both lack depth; however, the athletes representing in the high jump and long jump for both teams are medal prospects.
