Bailey dropped from Reggae Boyz Nations League squad for ‘curfew breach’
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Leon Bailey has been dropped from the Reggae Boyz Nations League squad that will face the USA in the semi-finals later this month.
Bailey was “suspended for this camp for breaking curfew in the last camp,” the Jamaica Football Federation stated.
Clarendon College and Arnett Gardens striker Kaheem Dixon has since been included in the Reggae Boyz squad. Dixon is one of three local-based players named in the 23-man squad.
Nineteen-year-old Dixon, who led Clarendon College to the daCosta Cup and Olivier Shield titles and has forced his way into Arnett Gardens, joins Mt Pleasant FA’s goalkeeper Shaquan Davis and Cavalier SC’s defender Richard King in the squad released by the Jamaica Football Federation Thursday morning.
Jamaica will play the USA next Thursday, March 21, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
He scored Jamaica’s only goal in their two-game friendly series against Trinidad and Tobago. In the first game, the Reggae Boys won 1-0 before drawing the second game 0-0.
Additionally, two England-based players, midfielder Karoy Anderson of Charlton Athletics and forward Bailey Cadamarteri of Sheffield Wednesday were also included in the squad.
Corey Burke was recalled to the squad as well as West Ham striker Michail Antonio.
